Shards still going Strong

Was watching video hits (which I don't do often for the record! :-P) and I saw this new video for the song Bullet Proof by La Roux. Shards trend represented nicely here. It is actually quite a nice video really. Lots of tricky multimedia, softshaded CG and.....Auras, auras is another trend I'll talk about soon....it is a b it harder to prove. SO I am still collecting evidence of this one.

Myki things everywhere, they're ugly

These have been popping up everywhere now. Instead of going for
something far more slick (like a flat steel look or something :-p).
They just don't look cool or evil enough, new things should look evil,
like the new convention centre, slick but evil. Not angry enough lol.
Too bubbly, too kiddy, too 90's.

Interestingly I noticed this one seems to be active unlike the rest.

Trendspotting : Shards Trend

I have been seeing a lot of this trend in the last year or so. SHARDS, hard edges with sharp points. It is everywhere, even the new city of Melbourne logo. I do like the trend....but it is bordering on overuse I would say at this point. Check out the shards in the background, definitely very 2000 & late....ugh did I say that?

The convention Centre is the Shards trend applied to a building both inside and outside. Quite sharp I might add, I like it.

Timerland, JT and Madonna got in on it too! as they try to outrun the x-ray shards?
